Walking could always be part of your daily routine

  • Walk for some or all of your journey to or from work or you could simply get off the bus one or two stops earlier!
  • Walk to the shops or for a leisure activity
  • Explore the area and its history, amenities or the local countryside
  • Listen to music or podcasts and audiobooks 
  • Walk the children to school
  • Enjoy family walks
  • Join a local walking group
  • Use walking apps for journey planning and monitoring your distances, times and progress.

 

But remember if you are cycling or walking more to always:

  • Drink plenty of fluid before and after activity
  • Keep activity within your age and fitness range
  • Use a high factor sun block if sunny
  • Wear appropriate and comfortable footwear
