Bus Operator change to services 3, 10, 12A and 12C

The Blackburn Bus Company has taken over three bus routes previously operated by Blackburn Private Hire, from Monday, May 18. The 3, 10, 12A and 12C will now become part of the operator’s network, with “peak time” journeys added for commuters and students. Support for the transition was provided by Blackburn with Darwen Council and the Lancashire Combined County Authority.

Paul Turner, commercial director at Transdev Blazefield, said:

“We are delighted that these routes will soon be joining our Blackburn network, and that we can improve these services by adding extra journeys during the busiest times of the day.

“On behalf of everyone here at Transdev, I would like to thank both Lancashire Combined County Authority and Blackburn with Darwen Council for helping us ensure that local communities retain their regular bus link to Blackburn centre and beyond.

“We look forward to bringing our signature high-quality service to the routes and welcoming passengers on board these new services from 18 May.”

The updated routes and their destinations are:

  • Route 3: serving Daisyfield, Little Harwood and Sunnybower
  • Route 10: serving Wensley Fold, Revidge, Bearwood and Lammack
  • Routes 12A and 12C: serving Higher Croft, Blackamoor and Royal Blackburn Hospital

Buses will run every hour on weekdays, starting as early as 7.10am and running as late as 6.40pm.

Limited Saturday service will also be available.

The company’s vehicles come equipped with next-stop audio and visual announcements, hearing loops, and low-emission engines.

Single fares remain capped at £3.

Unlimited weekly travel across all Transdev services in Lancashire is available for £25.
