Community Rail Week 2022 in Lancashire

A round-up of activities

As part of Community Rail Week, Community Rail Lancashire have been hosting a number of events across the county. One of the first events was a premiere of a short-animated film about the life of Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth, which took place at Padiham Green CE Primary on Monday 23rd May 2022.

Community Rail Lancashire’s Station of Welcome project led by CRL’s Shahiesta Raja held a morning of embroidery in the ‘Bunker’ at Accrington. This railway themed project is being coordinated by the IMO (Inspire, Motivate, Overcome) charity based in Blackburn.

The final Community Rail Week celebration took place on Friday 27th May with Connecting East Lancashire and Community Rail Lancashire co-hosting the Brierfield Bike Ride, a guided ride from, and back to, Brierfield station.

Community Rail Week 2022 was organised by the Community Rail Network and sponsored by the Rail Delivery Group and took place from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th May 2022.
