Road Safety Week – School Crossing Patrols

Celebrating our BwD road safety heroes

This week we are taking part in #RoadSafetyWeek and saying thank you to our School Crossing Patrol (SCPs) across the Blackburn with Darwen borough.

The theme for Road Safety Week this year is Road Safety Heroes and we’re celebrating the work of all our road safety professionals, and the SCPs are some of them.

Watch the video here to learn more about what the team do:

BwD SCP Barry Puzon said: “You’re part of the community, looking after children which very important.”

Our community safety and highways teams are working with local partners to make our roads as safe as possible for all road users in all neighbourhoods.

Please grab a few minutes to ask your young family members to take this survey so we can design healthy streets – where everyone feels safe and welcome – for the next generation.

The road safety survey for young people is open until November 30: Blackburn with Darwen Safer Roads – Young People’s Consultation (socialsensecic.co.uk)

Road Safety Week is the UK’s biggest road safety event and each year millions of people around the UK get involved to take action for safer roads.

Road Safety Week inspires thousands of schools, organisations and communities to shout out for our right to make safe and healthy journeys every day. It also provides a great opportunity for anyone working in road safety to get more people involved with their work.

On Friday 19 November everyone is invited to join in on Road Safe Tee Day and observe the Be Bright Be Seen motto.
